Catching up! Issue by issue because I'm easily confused. Welcome to Air Fryer World! It is of course [just] a convection oven, which was a feature on a couple of my toaster ovens yet I never adopted the concept. Air fryers repositioned their operation into the gadget world and added the ease of simplistic settings. AFs have evolved, and if you are looking at accessories I recommend the silicone pie pans but be sure it fits in your AF basket. Yes, adding a solid bottom, pan or liner, would seem to diminish the air circulation but... I don't care. I'll take that over having to laboriously scrub the perforated shelf thingie and the basket too. Maui added a parking system down here in South Maui. As a resident I registered and can get free parking whilst visitors pay $10. As expected a lot of grumbling & misunderstandings along with some difficulty for those who may not be even low-level technically inclined. Apparently also some Hawaii drivers licenses resist the scanning necessary to complete registration. It will get sorted out as does any launch. In the it-could-be-worse category, one could be the human parking lot monitor who has to deal with the upset.

I've been amazed at how easily my air fryer cleans up. I can wipe it off, give it a spritz of Dawn PowerWash, rinse, and I'm done. even cheese and grease seem to come off pretty easily.

On parking, I do sometimes wonder how people who don't have smartphones-if such people still exist– or those who don't use credit cards, can even park these days. I asked the guy in the parking lot what they do if someone doesn't have a credit card or smartphone, and he said simply they won't be able to come in.

I neglected to mention that the parking with the new tech is for our county run beach parks. Commercial parking can do whatever it wishes but government run public facilities not so much.

My previous and current air fryers may not have as well developed a coating. Or else I might be opting for the full carbonization setting. Demographics and whether the local voters will accept a requirement for a smartphone is going to play out differently by locale. I think there’s an option to use the kiosk instead of one’s own device. But you would still need to have registered and proven residency.

I've read that something like 93% of all Americans now have smartphones, so it should be feasible in most places to have smartphone based parking. Although even at that, I know quite a few people who prefer to have their parking be happily anonymous

Yet another fun Notebook. I too just got an air fryer. I'm still practicing with it. I am not much of a cook with regular appliances (except the microwave where I'm a pro) so figuring out the timing with the air fryer makes me nervous.

(ahem) Irregardless, I agree about the egregiousness of alright (also irregardless).

LOL, irregardless for all intensive purposes? (I could do this all day!)

Yeah, the air fryer's timing is a puzzle, especially if you're trying to transpose things from a conventional oven. I've started to keep a list in Notes to keep track of what works. I've nailed salmon (7-9 minutes at 370), hamburgers (12 minutes at 370), and tater tots (12 minutes at 400). Sandwiches are pretty good (400 for 4 minutes)

Thanks for the timing tips. They are some of the ones I've tried to nail down.

Irregardless, have an alright day. ;)
